In reverence to the Japanese aesthetics of simplicity and harmony wrought though composition, element, and design, Sakura Nipponica portrays the varying characters of the Japanese language: 1,945 Kanji are written on the surface of the wood table; two sets of the Kana syllables are contained within the Yin-Yang shape of the Rising Sun vase; Romaji (Latin) is portrayed on the brick wall.

The background wall features engravings of approximately 100 Japanese words and brand names that have become a significant part of our global economy, vocabulary, and daily lives. Sakura Nipponica honors the victims of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
